ROUGH AT SEA.
SMAXiI< VESSEL DELAYED. The hard sou'-wester yesterday caused a fairly big sea in the Hauraki Gulf, and vessels running to the bays exposed to the full force of the wind and sea experienced a very unpleasant time. The small steamer Kaipatiki, which runs regularly to Surfdale and Ostend, on the southern side of Waiheke, had a very rough passage from Ostend to Surfdale, where it was found impoSsfble to land passengers at the wharf. She was forced to return to Ostend, which is very well sheltered. The steamer remained at Ostend wharf last night, returning to Auckland shortly after 7 o'clock this morning.
