VAIN REQUESTS FOR HELP,
XEW ZEALANDERS IN SYDNEY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Tourist Department has been advised that applications by distressed Xew Zealaiulers to the Sydney office for financial relief have been phenomenal. The commissioner in Sydney has no funds on which he can draw for the purpose, and advises people not to proceed to Australia without possessing adequate resources.
