AORANGI FOR VANCOUVER.

REYNOLDS AFRIVES. PORT WHANGAREI FROM SUVA. The rain yesterday delayed cargo operations 011 the Royal Mail linei Aorangi, loading for Vancouver and way ports at the Prince's wharf, and she could not sail at 11 a.m. as intended, but was expected to leave shortly after 3 p.m. to-day. She lias- a large through passenger list and about t>o joined her here. She is due at Vancouver 011 October 30. The British steamer Reynolds (5021 tons) arrived shortly before three o'clock this afternoon from the Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean, with a cargo oi and will also discharge at Port Chalmers and Wanganui. The Union Company's chartered steamer Port Whangarei lias, been delayed a few hours by the heavy weather last night and is not expected until late this afternoon. She comes from Suva with a cargo of fruit and will berth at the Queen's wharf. After discharge she will load general cargo for the South, sailing for Wellington to-morrow evening. Kaiwarra, which arrived from Napier 011 Sunday, sailed for Whangaroa and Sydney at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. (U.S.S. Co.) Awatea, which arrived at Wellington yesterday from Sydney, leaves for Auckland at eleven o'clock to-night. She arrives here on Thursday morning, sailing at o p.lll. on Friday for Sydney. (U.S.S. Co.) Wanganella arrived at Sydney yesterday from Auckland. She sails from Sydney for Wellington next Saturday. (H.-P.) Matua will go into dock on Thursday to complete repairs to her rudder and stern post. For the- year ended March 31 last the annual report of the Port of London Authority shows that the tonnage of shipping using the port in 1935 constituted a record and was over three-quarters of a million tons higher than in the preceding year.
