YOUTH ADMITS THEFT.
GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE. A bruslimaker, Gilbert Frank Clialk--1 in, aged 23, who appeared in the Police Court this morning, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing £4 10/, the property of Gerald Charles Joseph De Lacey Watson, on February 28. Detective - Sergeant McHugli said Chalklin stole the money from his mate's wallet. "He admits it was a mean theft, but he is a good worker and now has the choice of three positions, so I think he i* deserving of another chance," said Mr. McHugli. "He promises nie he will refund the money." The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, admitted Chalklin to probation for 12 months and ordered him to make restitution.
