NAVAL TRAINEES.
LIST OF PRIZE-WINNERS.
PRESENTATIONS AT BASE. The six-monthly presentation of prizes to successful trainees and winning sections, who are shortly to be drafted from H.M.S. Philomel to either H.M.S. Achilles or H.M.S. Dunedin, wae made 011 Sunday by the officer in charge of the Devonport Naval Base, Commander C. B. Tinley. Divisions were held on the field at the base, and after making the ship's rounds and inspecting the ship's company, the commander presented the prizes. The Clelland Cap, which is the trophy presented to the winning section in physical and recreationary games, including hockey, boxing and drill, was won by A section under Leading Boy C. W. Mason-Riseborough. In the inter-section boxing competition for the Duff trophy, A section again was successful. Following is a list of prize-winners:— Grand aggregate, year's course, Boy (first class) E. W. Ruddick, 1; Petty-Officer Boy F. E. J. Mason, 2; first prize in seamanship, Petty-Officer Boy F. E. J. Mason; second prize, Boy (first class) S. V. Leckey; first prize in gunnery, Boy (first class) E. W. Ruddick; second prize, PettyOflicer Boy F. E. J. Mason; first prize for stokers (second class) under training, Stoker H. G. Heatley; second prize, Stoker J. W. Stewart; first prize for school, advanced class, Boy W. E. Elliott; second prize, Boy (first class) E. W Ruddick; general class, Leading Boy C. W. MasonRiseborough and Boy (first class) S. V. Leckey, equal; divinity, Boy (first classl N. C. Tasker. • Medals for the training division marathon were awarded as follows: —Boy (first class) S. V. Leckey, 1; Boy Hessey, 2; Stoker (second class) Brown, 3.
