FIRE AT WHITIANGA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) WHITIANGA, Monday. A good save was effected at Whitianga 'yesterday niorning when a fire broke out in the; residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Cooper. All the family except Mrs. Cooper, who was in the garden, were absent at the time of the outbreak. Mrs. Cooper saw smoke and flames issuing from the kitchen window, and called Mr. McAllister Dewar and Cooper, who were nearby. After a hard fight the flames were extinguished. The fire was confined to the kitchen, which suffered extensive damage.
