WEATHER FORECAST
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast -for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawlua and Hamilton: — Moderate to strong south-westerly winds, later decreasing.- Weather for the most part fair, but with occasional showers in many places. Temperatures cool. Seas rough on the west coast and moderate on the cast. An, extensive anti-cyclone covers Australia and is advancing on to the Tasman Sea, but a shallow depression is approaching southern New Zealand. For the Dominion. The indications are for moderate to strong south-westerly winds, gradually decreasing. Mainly there is a prospect of fair and cool weather, with occasional scattered showers. Barometer unsteady, with a rising tendency. Seas smooth to moderate. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in tlie Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: — Wind south-south-west, strong; sea rough; weather overcast, with passing showers; visibility good; barometer rising. ,
