SIXTY-FIVE YEARS.
WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. MR. AND MRS. W. C. PENMAN. The Goth anniversary of their wedding was celebrated to-day by Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Penman, at their home, 03, Murdoch Road, Grey Lynn. Several members of tlicir family joined them in honour of the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Penman were married on October 13, 1871, at Kirkcaldy, Scotland, and their family tree to-day numbers 72, of whom 19 are great-great-grand-children, and 33 grandchildren. But not only is to-day the 65th anniversary of the wedding, but it is also the 85th anniversary of the birthday of Mrs. Penman. £ ' They had a family of 14 children, nine of whom are living, and all married. All live in Auckland, and the family can claim 50 members of the one church, the Church' of Christ, West Street, Newton. ; Mr. and Mrs. Penman, with six: of their children, arrived in New Zealand in January, 1902, and went to live in the house they( now occupy in Murdoch Road. Three of the older members of the family had arrived in Auckland the previous year. Mr. Penman followed his occupation as an engineer's pattern maker until recent years, when he retired. f
