CLERICAL WORKERS.
CONCILIATION PROCEEDINGS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The manufacturers', section of the Wellington clerical workers' dispute was resumed in the Conciliation Council before, the commissioner, Mr. M. J. Heard on. . , ' ' ■ ' ;It was agreed that there should beno reduction in wages and that nt» employee should be discharged so that his "work might be done by a lower-paid worker. Every casual worker is to be paid 20 per cent above the-weekly rate. No-thing in the award is to apply to executive officers receiving more than £400 a year. .
No major clauses were agreed to. Clauses governing wages, hours of work and holidays were referred to the Arbitration for settlement.
