MAORI REMANDED.
ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE echo of alleged dispute. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, this day. As a result of what was alleged to have been a doniestic dispute between two brothers and a wife, Matthew Hill, aged 31, a Maori, was charged with attempting to murder Alice Hill. He was remanded to appear on October 14. Accused was allowed bail in his own recognisance of £200 and two sureties of £200. It was alleged that a rifle was fired in the house, the bullet penetrating a door and going out through the roof. No one was injured.
