THEFT OF BOOKS.
t LABOURER SENTENCED. A labourer, Ignatius Patrick Cormick, aged 45, appeared in the Police Court this morning for sentence on a charge of stealing *wo books valued at 10/. tno property ci Arthur Kingi, on September 23. Cormick was also charged with failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his release on probation in Wellington on June 20. Sub-Inspector Fox said Cormick 'stole the books from a room which he had shared with a missionary. After hearing the probation officer, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., sentenced Cormick to three months' imprisonment on the theft charge. He was convicted and discharged on the second charge.
