Arab Leader's Offer for British General's Life ■ £500 REWARD ANNOUNCED. JERUSALEM, October 4. The self-styled "commander-in-chief" of the Arab rebels, Fawzi Koukdji, has put a price on the head of LieutenantGeneral J. G. Dill, chief of the British forces in Palestine. He has offered a reward of £500 to anyone who brings in the general "dead or alive." This is Koukdji's reply to the Palestine Government's offer of a reward of £500 for the discovery of the assailant in every case of murder since the disturbances began. Koukdji ie a notorious Syrian rebel leader who, with the knowledge gained during a period of training with the Turkish Army, was a thorn in the side of the French in the Druse revolt ot 1925-26 in Syria. Recently he escaped from Iraq, where he had served in the Army, and published a fiery proclamation during his passage through Transjordan to Palestine, calling on all Araus to go to the assistance of their kindred in Palestine. He is preparing a report on* further resistance measures for submission to tne Arab Higher Committee. Presumably under his direction, the violence campaign has ol late been conducted with far greater cunning and efficiency than before. Amateurish home-made bombs have now been (replaced by scientifically made machines and by traps which are proving extremely I dangerous to military lorries and cars.
