LATER MEETINGS.
MANY ARRESTS. Home Office and Police Have Fascist Sympathies. COMMUNIST CHARGE. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, October 4. Both Communists and Fascists held meetings in the East End to-night strongly guarded by police. The day's arrests totalled 63 for obstruction and assault. Scotland Yard states that largely owing to one of the finest days of the year many people assembled, including women and children. Disorder broke out and the procession was banned to prevent further breaches of the peace. The Communist party, in a statement, says that mass action of the working people has erposed the prb-Fascist attitude of the Home Office and the police which sought, to the last moment, to enable Sir Oswald Mosley and his Fascists to march and which is responsible for the baton charges and arrests.
