TWELFTH ANNUAL REPORT. REVENUE NEARLY £80,000. The twelfth annual report of the New Zealand Dairy Board, covering the season from August 1, 1035, to July 31, 1036, states that the total net levy collected on butter and' cheese exported amounted to £79,290 and after adding interest on investments amounting to £500 gives a total revenue of £79,700. The cost of management at the head office, Wellington, was £8826 10/3, and in London £9335 17/5. Exchange on remittances to London for advertising and office expenses was £945S 4/11. ' Expenditure on shipping supervision, shipping work at the 'branch offices in Auckland, New Plymouth, Lyttelton and Dunedin, " Exporter," board meeting expenses, etc., absorbed £13,044 5/9. The payment towards the cost of research from the industry was £7400, against £4900 the prevlons year. The subsidy to Cawthron Institute was reduced to £105, and after a similar payment next year disappears from the accounts. Advertising in Great Britain absorbed £28,548 9/7, bringing the total expenditure to £76.823 7/11. The report, after reviewing the activities of the board towards the improvement of marketing and other conditions, details the changes that were made after the new Government came into office. A full statement of the new regulations is given together with a mass of useful information in regard to the industry. Statistics_ included in the review show that 146,657 tons of butter was graded in the season, compared with 136,217 tons in 1934-35 and 140,225 tons in 1933-34.
