ST. HELIER'S GREEN. The president of the St. Ilelier's Bowling Club, Mr. H. E. Goidsbro, welcomed members, intending members and visitors, at the informal opening of the club on Saturday. The greens, lie said, were in excellent order and tlie membership had increased by close on a score. lie wished them all a good game and a most enjoyable season. \ WAITEMATA GREEN. The Waitemata Club green was officially opened for the season on Saturday by the president, Mr. G. B. Chiunery, who welcomed a gathering of ladies and visitors of •3ister clubs and members. He complimented the green superintendent, Mr. W. L. Rowland, on the splendid condition of the green. He also welcomed and congratulated Mr. A. G. Osborne, a member of the club, 011 his election as M.P. for Manukau. Tlie Auckland Centre was represented by Messrs. W. J. Truscott, A. Dignan, and M. J. Walsh, congratulations being offered by Mr. Truscott, who mid the stage was now set for a wonderful bowling season, as the Government was providing more leisure and more spending power. Addresses were also given by Mr. W. J. Lyon, 51.P. for Waitemata, Mr. A. G. Osborne, M.P., Mr. It. Martin, Mayor of Nortlieote, Mr. Albert Hadtield, Deputy-Mayor of Birkenhead, and Mr. A. Harris. Oliinnery, wife of ' the president, delivered the first bowl. The croquet lawns adjoining were also deelarejl open for the season by Mr. Chlnnery, after the first ball had been hit through tlie lioops by the president, Mrs. W. K. A. Stewart.
