By, the courtesy of the Victoria Club the regatta .was held in conjunction with their races for both' clubs' benefit. Thanks to the efforts niade to get the Sanders Cup contest held on the Waitemata, and the good work of the ladies' committee, who entertained the crews'of tlie four provincial boats during their visit, the contest • was a great success, the- Canterbury boaft Avenger, .winning by a small margin a display of exoelliWt team work by;/hW--erew. It was pleasing to know that rit'Jeast; one new boat had been built with a view to, trying to regain the cup at Xyttelton next February .
