CANTERBURY CLUB.
There was a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the Canterbury Club, held in the Victoria Arcade last night, when reminiscences of Canterbury were related by a number of speakers. Mr. J. E. Green, who presided, announced that December 16, the anniversary day of the province, would be fittingly celebrated for the first time in Auckland. The programme is to embrace luncheon, bowls and, in the evening, a social reunion of former Canterbury residents. An apology was received from Sir Walter Stringer. Reminiscences were given by the Rev. R. G Coats, Messrs. F. ,K. Hunt, T. Clarkson and W. Pavitt, and songs by the Rev. Walter Averill and Mr. G. Morton Smith, Mr. Len Elliot being the accompanist. Several new members were elected.
