AUCKLAND BEATS WELLINGTON. In the secondary schools contest for boys under IG, the Auckland representatives defeated Wellington on the Outer Domain by the only goal scored in a lively contest. The teams were : — Auckland : Cocker, Buchanan, Booth. Kendall, Hutchinson. Mills, Yates, Crabb, Dacre, Adams, BlacMe. Wellington : Gray, Mackenzie, Wilson, Tucker. Baxter, Marr, Keen, Duncan, Yeoman, Seymour. Simmonds. Auckland attacked at the start, and I under heavy pressure one of the Wellington backs handled aud Dacre made no mistake with the penalty kick. Keen exchanges followed, but a lively ball and fresh breeze frequently baulked the young players. Blackie was conspicuous in leading some Auckland" attacks, while Yeoman showed out in the visiting van, but there was no further score at the interval. On resuming Wellington forced a corner and pressed hard without result, and a break through by Keen saw Yeoman head just over the bar. Dacre tested Gray with a liaru drive, but Wellington returned to force another fruitless corner. Auckland retaliated strongly, with Dacre, Adams and Blackic all narrowly missing, and a good contest ended : Auckland 1 Wellington 0 Referee : Mr. Grierson, R.N. all three trophies. PUKEMIRO'S BRILLIANT SCOOP. Bv defeating Wanderers by 3 goals to 2 at Hamilton, the Pukemiro team established a precedent in South Auckland Association football in annexing all three trophies in senior competition football.
