' Since coming to Ellerslie a few weeks ago Waitaka has not been seriously tested, but N. J. Prenter has the bay gelding in the right condition to begin the new season. The son of Robespierre and Mazurka showed a fair.amount of promise by registering three seconds and a first in his last four starts as a two-year-okl, but has done little racing since. He is entered in hack sprint events at the Auckland meeting, and if started his running should afford a i useful guide concerning his future proscpeflta.
