PIGEON FLYING.
NORTHERN CLUB'S RACE
The Northern Racing Pigeon Club s old bird race from Taumarunul was tlown on Saturday. Nineteen competitors started 110 birds, which encountered a northwesterly gale and rain squalls, and the winning bird took 6£ hours to cover the 14j miles. Several competitors failed to get a bird In ruce time. The winner, Mr. C. Warner, of Remuera, has now won the last five races in which he lias started in the Cornwall and Northern Clubs an outstanding performance.
The four leading birds were : — Mr. C. Warner's b li, 647 yds per minute 1; Mr. F. Tucker's b c p h Bella Vista. 640 yds, 2; Mr. L. Porter's b c h, 637 yds. 3; Mr. L. Bedford's b c li Surbiton Girl, G3oyds, 4. Mr. R. Hunter won first and second prize for nominated birds.
CORNWALL CLUB
The following is tlie result of the Cornwall Racing Pigeon Club's fourth race of the season, which wae flown on Saturday from Hunterville. an airline distance of 218 miles :—Mrl C.
