LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
AFFAIRS OF THE REFEREES.
At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Referees Association, Mr. L. E. Bull presiding, the chairman reported upon the recent delegation to the control board, from which a decision is being awaited on a point raised in connection with the scope of grandstand privileges. A motion for the suspension of standing orders for the purpose of dealing with an old life membership was lost owing to the vote not being unanimous.
It was decided to convey to Mr. R. J. Stirling, an ex-member of the appointment board, best wishes for his return to health.
The executive reported having the question of linesmen under consideration.
In reply to a question, the chairman ruled that in the event of a draw in the knock-out competition games, five minutes extra each way was required to be played.
