GIFT PICTURES.
FOR AUCKLAND ART GALLERY
COUNCIL'S ACCEPTANCE. Advice of the gift of three pictures for the Auckland Art Gallery was received by the City Council Last evening. Mr. Harold Steevens, of London, presented through the Empire Art Loan Collections Society two pictures by his sister, the late Emily M. Paterson, entitled "Dahlias," an oil painting, and "Shipping on the Mass," a water colwur. Through, the same society Miss A. M. Alexander, of Weymouth, presented an oil painting "Souvenir of Georgian London," by the late Fred Foottet. It was decided, to thank the donors. A proposal by Sir George Richardson to make available for sale at the Art Gallery postcards and reproductions of famous pictures in the National Gallery and Tate Gallery; was de|erred.
