DEMAND FOR MEXICAN MEN. MEXrCO CITY, i Marry or pu.v taxes is a proposal confronting Mexican bachelors. Iwenty j women filed a petition with Congicss to tax all unmarried men 30 years or j older 5 per cent of their annual income. [ The petition declared the tax would proj vide three l>enefits: — | ]. Population be greatly in--1 creased. I 2. If Mexicans marry young, development of tlie country's natural would be accomplished more quickly. .3. Crime would decrease, for wives j would keep their husb.iCids at home and | out of trouble. The women's delegation proposed th« I tax used to help younger men get married, construct maternity hospitals and build women's homes. Congress is to consider the proposal at its Septem- ' ber session.
