CLOSING DOWN.
CITY BOARDING-HOUSES. HIGHER COSTS PROBLEM. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUXEDIX, this day. Four large boarding houses in the city are closing down at the end of the month, the main cause given being, the .recent Labour laws. One proprietor stated to-day that the restrictive conditions, combined with the high wages for cooks. £3 10/, instead of 30/, made it impossible to run the houses. It is reported that the boarders in these places have not experienced difficulty in finding fresh accommodation.
