LAST VOYAGE.
N.Z.'S OLDEST STEAMER. OPIHI TO BE SCUTTLED. (By Telegraph — Press Association, t WELLINGTON, this day. The oldest steamer 011 the New Zealand coast, the Union Company's Opihi will next week be scuttled in Coo Strait, where she will join company wit: many famous old vessels that - lie 180 fathoms deep some three miles southeast of Cape Taurakirae. The Opihi was built in "Germany ir 188G, and was first named Lilla. Over •20 years ago she was dismantled and converted into a coal hulk at Wellington, but during the war she was fitted with engines from the Opouri, whicl had been wrecked at Greymoutli, and was recommissioned. The Opihi has been stripped of everything of value prior to leaving Wellington on her last voyage.
