Star Pronto Wins Militia.

The Jubilee meeting of the Cambridge Trotting Club is .being held at Cambridge to-day in fine weather. There is a. large •attendance and the course is in splendid

order. . , Racing commenced with the First Maiden ° Jubilee Handicap, for which Glenora Girl, Golden Bramble, Peggy True, The Texan and Worthy Boy were scratched, and Tollgate and Hori Bingen •rot most support. Stargum broke at the start, and going out of the straight Marina had charge from Worthy Song, Hori Bingen, Pink Lady, Xawton Parris 1 and King Country. Along the back Marina was followed .by Worthy Song, Xawton Parrish, Hori Bingen, Pink Lady and Tollgate, with the others well back. Worthy Song led into the straight from Xorrie Rock (who came fast on the outside), Pink Lady, Xawton Parrish, Marina and Tollgate. The last-named was pocketed when the field bunched, but just got clear in time to win by a shcr't neek from Xorrie Rock, who beat Pink Lady by half & length. (Woitliy Sons Xawton Parrish, Marina, Roman Chief and King Country were next.

While doing Ills preliminary before the start of the race Worthy toy ricked himself, and was withdrawn. The investments on -the totalisator were returned t to his supporters.

' Favourite Wins Narrowly.

Lizzie Bond was the only defection in the Duke. Street Handicap, and most money-came for Franz Derby, Reception and-Native Princess, the first-named winning by a narrow margin. Racing past the stands Native Princess had charge from Great Sonoma, Stalky, Baby Triumph, Getaway, Reception and Rose Marble, the order along the back being Native Princess and Great Sonoma two lengths clear of Reception, Getaway and Franz Derby, with Stalky next, some distance away. Great Sonoma moved up fast and led into the straight from Getaway, Native Princess, Franz Derby and Reception, with Bingen Sun heading the others. Franz Derby challenged Great Sonoma .in the run home, and the latter left his feet, the verdict going to Franz Derby by a head. Great Sonoma beat Getaway by one length and a half. Reception, Native Princess and Bingen Sun were next. Polly Pan and Stalky broke badly as the field raced out of the straight.

A Close Finish. When the field paraded for the Old Settlers' Handicap, Norrie Rock and King's Guide were missing, and the chief selections were Lucky Love and Tryment. Lucky Love and Waikato Prince began best to lead past the stands from Red Frontier, Tryment, Lady Amanda and Laminate. Along the back the order

was much the same, the first-named quartet being bunched, then came Luminate and Lady Amanda. Lucky Love, Waikato Prince and Tryment were first into the straight, with Red Frontier a length away. Over the final stages Tryment and Waikato Prince broke and Red Frontier got up to win by a short neck from Luck}' Love, with Tryment five lengths away. Waikato Prince, Lady Amanda and Luminate were next.

An Easy Victory.

All the acceptors went to the post in the Militia Handicap and in a good jbetting race most support came for King's Guide and Star Pronto, the latter winning easily -by three lengths. King's Guide lost about 25 yards at the start and Silk Cord led past the stands from. Parochial, with King's Guide, Star Pronto, Winaway and Storm Queen next, followed by Lady Fame. Parochial had charge along the back, with Silk Cord handyiind Star Pronto two lengths away, tlicn came King's Guide, Winaway and Storm Queen. Entering the straight Star Pronto (who had moved np faet) was on terms with Parochial, with King's Guide and Silk Cord next, followed by Winaway. King's Guide broke in the straight, where Parochial tired and Star Pronto won easily by three lengths from Silk Cord, who beat Winaway by a length.
