NEW ZEALAND BUSINESS. The publication of Cook's New Zealand Business Directory, 1936-37, copies of which are now on sale, will fill a want in the Dominion's commercial life, as well as proving a useful reference book for overseas business houses. In a closely-printed 700 pages it gives the names and addresses of over 60,000 business and professional people and firms throughout the.country, classified alphabetically under the names of the districts in which they operate, and under headings illustrating the type of business they transact.
Mr. W. J. Cook, itnder whose direction the Tiew publication had been prepared, has had experience extending over 52 years in the editing of directories, and he lias published directories of Australia since 1012. He 'extended his activities to New Zealand in 1935. His present publication merits more than passing attention because of the extent of its scope. It is a New Zealand Business Directory in that it covers practically the whole of the business world of the Dominion. It gives not only, the names of firms and professional men established in the cities and larger towns, but also extends its coverage t-o the outlying country districts. ' The directory is up to. date in its arrangement, and is attractively illustrated. The publishers are to be. congratulated on the result of their efforts.
