EVEREST AWAITS CONQUEST. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, August 6. Mr. Hugh Ruttledge, leader of the British party which was recently defeated by an early monsoon in its effort to climb Mount Everest, the world's highest point, said on his return that the Himalayan giant will be climbed some day. "I will not try again. lam now 51 and too old," lie said. "There should be no difficulty in obtaining Tibetan permission for further attempts."
