Victoria College .was second, Otago University j third : and Canterbury College fourth.. •'./ .. - . ,-Miss E- M. Johnston (Auckland) was judged the best speaker, with Mr. J. S. D. More (Otago) second, and Mr. A. T. S.' McGhije (Victoria) : third. -The stib|'ic|i of, ■the/debate, was £Tfiat Collective' 'Security *' Oners tlie Best Pjgospect for World Peace." The contest took the. form •.qf two " debates. Victoria, taking thfe 'affirmative, opposed Canterbury in the' first debate, and Auckland, taking, the affirmative, opposed Otflgo in the' second debate.
The judges were Professor L. G Pocock, the Rev. A. C. Watson, and Mr, R. C. Abernetliy.
