Major A. J. Edney left for Wellington by the Limited express last night. Mr. R. Farrell left for Wellington by train yesterday. Mr. W. Meek left for Wellington to-day fjy the afternoon express. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Kemball. Mr. Hastings Deering, managing director of Hastings Deering Company, Sydney, will leave by the Mariposa for Sydney to-night. Mr. E. D. Walker, passenger traffic manager at the Sydney office of the Matson Line, will leave by the Mariposa for Sydney to-night. The Hon. J, Alexander, the Hon. F. E. Lark, and the Hon. T. Bluodworth, M.L.C.'s arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited express. Mr. F. W. Motlies, managing director in New Zealand for the Goldberg Advertising Agency, Ltd., will leave by the Mariposa for Sydney to-night. Mr. F. Beaumont Smith, managing director of J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation (N.Z.), Ltd., will leave for Australia by the Mariposa to-night.

Mr. L. J. Scliniitt, secretary of the Department Industries and Commerce, is at the Central Hotel. Mr. J. W. Heenan, Under-Secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs, will be in Auckland on Monday to attend a conference of North Shore local bodies, at which the question of amalgamation will be discussed. The Rev. A. T. Thompson, controlling secretary for the British and Foreign Bible Society in Australia, who lias been doing organising work for the society in Fiji, will arrive in Auckland by the Mariposa to-day and leave for Sydney to-night. Mr. A. C. A. Sexton, member for Franklin, who broke the stump of his amputated le<r when lie slipped in the street in Wellington early last week, returned to Auckland by train this morning. He will enter a private hospital for treatment. Mr. E. J. Phelan, licensing authority for the No. 1 district, left Auckland to-day to resume, his tour of the East Coast, which he had to abandon' recently owing to the death of his wife, j Mr. Phelan is accompanied by Mr. R.
