HAWERA HORSES.
HAWERA HOKSES. AGA KHAN RETIRED. INTERNATIONAL DOING WELL. Preparations for the combined Hunt Club fixture at New Plymouth are in full swing, and the Hawera track presents a busy appearance. The latest addition is the three-year-old Master Limoud, who has rejoined R. Brough's stable. Master Limond has done well during his let up and has grown into a solid customer, but lie may require time. He is by Resinous (a son of Limond) from Mollah, by Bisogne. Glenthawn has resumed after a spell and bears a very bright appearance. He is thriving on the work allotted to him and will have to be reckoned with in maiden events during the spring. The hunter Sceptic,; by Cynic, is a splendid jumper, and during the week gave a finished exhibition over five schooling hurdles. He is a very pronfising prospect for hunters' events. The three-year-old International is doing splendidly and worked impressively with Wotan on Tuesday. After a round of pace work they came home solidly over six furlongs on the outside of the course proper in 1.24. International showing to most advantage. Ruling Star and Lickem, in O. Cox's stable, are making good progress in their work. Gay Step is also working regularly, but Friesland and Lowenberg are still being exercised on the roads. J. Fryer is busy with Onewhetu, Bina, Supreme Court, Oriel and Ned Outtle, and all are going well. Oriel is unlikely to be taken to Riccarton. C. Jackson lias decided not to persevere with Aga Khan and has given him to Mr. T. Bonner, of Mangaweka, who will use him for a hack. Several two-year-olds are being sprinted. R. Brough sent Mr. J. Dealy's two Resinous youngsters a couple of furlongs down the back in 26' As on Tuesday, the filly from -Fairy Girl showing to advantage. Fafner and Nucles registered a similar performance. J. Brown's three-year-olds, Notium, Shemseh and Kia Tere, are being kept up to the collar and will be ready for early engagements. Mr. W. Kirkland's two-year-old filly well repays inspection, being brimful of quality, and her breeding attracts attention. She is by Trivalve, winner of the A.J.C. and Y.R.C. Derbies and Melbourne Cup. Her dam, Calitho, is half-sister'to Lovelorn, dam of Nones, Menelaus, Lovematch. Left (dam of Peter Jackson and Gaine Carrington).
