WEATHER FORECAST.

FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to. as far south as Tauranga, Kawliia and Hamilton:-— Moderate north to north-west winds, freshening and backing within 24 hours to south-west, with the weather changeable and with rain at times; temperatures colder to-morrow; seas slight to moderate, but later increasing somewhat on the West Coast. A rather vigorous westerly depression crossed the South Island last night, and a second is now approaching across the Tasnian Sea. The pressure lias risen over south-eastern Australia. Forecast for Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day: The indications are for moderate to strong liortherlies; backing to west or south-west. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable; with isolated rain probable. Barometer unsteady. Seas moderate. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: —

Wind, north-west, light; sea smooth; weather fine and clear; visibility good; barometer steady.
