It occur,-; to me to mention tliat there has been no reply tr> my question of June 2!), where I asked "in which part of the British Empire the trading banks are able to give credit amounting to ten times their deposits." as stated by a writer a few days before, AAc have received no evidence to disprove ray observation that in Now Zealand the uauks ■do not usually lend out the whole of their deposits, in Australia they lend a still smaller proportion, and in Britain very rareiv more than half of their deposits, let alone fen times the amount.
