BOXING.
AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. More than 80 entries have been received by the Auckland Boxing Association for the annual Auckland provincial amateur boxing championships which will-be staged at the Town Hall on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. The entry reflects the renewed Interest which has been taken in boxing in recent months, when the best attendances for many yeans have been recorded at the Town Hall for professional and amateur programmes. The association has set three nights aside in which to deoide who will hold the titles for this year, but with the large entry and consequent number of bouts to be decided it will be found difficult to get them through in time, and the public can expect with pleasure the prospect of three long nights of boxing in which more than 70' contests will have to be fought before the new champions are found. This exceptional programme offers every inducement for attendance on each of the three nighis, and it is expected that the championships will produce a record from the viewpoint of attendance as well as for the amount of fighting.
