TAXI DRIVERS.
DELEGATES TO WELLINGTON. Messrs. M. G. Osborn and L. G. Matthews, the two delegates of the Auckland Drivers' Union, who went to Wellington to interview the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, in connetcion with the taxicab business, have returned to Auckland. At a meeting of the union in the Trades Hall subsequently Mr. Osborn reported that the Minister repeated his previous statement that li-~ would have an inquiry made into the whole of the taxicab business in the Dominion. The first inquiry would deal with fares and conditions of work in Wellington, and this would be followed by an inquiry into the conditions in Auckland.
