CARRIERS AT RODNEY.
ASSOCIATION FORMED. I (From Our Own Correspondent.) WARIvWORTH, Wednesday. There wag ci representative attendance at a meeting held in the Oddfellow's' Hall last evening, for the purpose of forming a carriers' association. Mr. A. lyier l)avies,. who presided, referred to the drivers' application for an award, and to the counter-proposals suggested at a meeting of employers held in Auckland recently. He also outlined the conditions under which drivers and owner-drivers would in future be.employed. After a short discussion it was unanimously decided to form an association, to be known as the Rodney Carriers Association. ■ .. . The election of officers resulted _as follows:—President, Mr. A. Tyler Davies; secretary, Mr. Reg.: Phillips; treasurer, Mr. Tim Davies; executive committee, the president, secretary, treasurer and Messrs. A. G. Anderson, C. R. Collings, W. Sc-hedowy, and A. F. Hellcur. The committee was authorised to drawup a schedule oJ prices, to be approved j".t the next meeting of the association.
