ASSISTANCE FOR THAMES
£2000 FOR DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

THAMES, Wednesday.
Mr. C. L. Grange, chairman of the Thames Prospecting Association, received this morning the following wire from Mr. J. Thorn, M.P.:—"I am glad to state that the Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. Ci Webb, informed me last evening that the. Mines Department has decided to take over the Commissioner claim and will expend £2000 on its development. The Department's action, in my opinion, is splendid evidence,of its anxiety to assist the Thames through goldmining activity."
