FANCY DRESS DANCE.
The pupils of ' St. Dominic's School, Helensville, held their annual fancy dress dance ball recently, and the scene was
one of gaiety,
| Prizes were awarded as follows:—Best fancy dress (girls), Britannia and Dolly Varden, Kathleen Wilson and Ruth Doherty (equal); best pair, Darby and Joan, Jack and Dan Lyons; best fancy dress (boys), Foreign Legion, Murray Hodge; most original costume (boys), cowboy, Keith Potter; most original costume (girls), Dominican sister, Molly Little; funniest girl, Country Cousin, June Hutton; funniest boy, Mr. Jiggs, Lex Moyle; best little girl, black cat and Saxon warrior, Maria Lyons and Gwenonia Lewis (equal); best little boy, pirate, Athol Atford; special prize, brown moth, Noel Moyle.
Items were contributed as follows:— Percussion Band (juniors); recitation, Standards V. and VI.; action songs, Baby Bunting and fairies (juniors);
pianoforte duet, May Levet and Ursula Goatlv; vinnin solo, Lindsay Bradly; vocal solo, Molly Hunter. The accompanist for the evening was Miss Pat Carleton, and Mr. Hand was master of ceremonies.
