WRESTLING.

BLOMFIELD BEATS FORSGREN. BOESCH AND WOODS DRAW. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Two whirlwind five-round wrestling bonte in which four of the most formidable professionals in the Dominion participated, drew a large crowd to the Wellington Town Hall last night, and provided thrills enough to satisfy the keenest enthusiasts. Lofty Bloin field beat Jack Forsgren in a contest which, although lacking the animosity of their last encounter in the Town Hall, was none the less an unusually eavage ail'ray. The only fall was a penalty one given against Forsgren for persistently refusing to let Blomtield back into the ring after having thrown him out. The Boesch v. Woods match resulted in a draw, with one fall each. It was a combat of drop-kicks versus elbow-jolts, although filled out with a good deal of excellent scientific wrestling at the greatest speed. BLOMF[ELD-WOODS MATCH. "Lofty" Blomfield and Joe Kopach Woods, the two foremost exponents of the elbow jolt among the wrestlers at present in New Zealand, will meet in the bout which is to be staged in the Auckland Town Hall ou Saturday night. The elbow jolt has coine to be regarded as a useful part of any wrestler's attacking equipment in the modern sport, and both Woods and Bloinfield have shown how effective it can be. The rights and wrongs of the jolt in comparison with the dropkick, for instance, have been warmly discussed, the first being almost invariably booed when it is employed, and the second cheered. When Blomfield and Woods get going, however, there will be no need for boos or cheers, though the crowd is bound to express its excitement in some way. It. will be a case of elbow and forearm against elbow and forearm, and it remains to be seen who prevails. Blomfield will have size and weight in his favour, but Woods, who has made a name for himself as a "giant-killer," will be undeterred by that factor. He has tackled bigger men than Blomfield in his time, and his terrific hitting power, combined with his capacity for absorbing punishment, lias often carried him through. Though elbows will certainly be much in evidence, it is not to be expected that they will monopoliee the show, as both men are highly skilful wrestlers who can acquit themselves well in any department of the game.
