WORLD COURT.
INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE. FOUR VACANCIES. (By .Telegraph.-—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day.
In a message received by the Prime Minister's Department from Geneva, the Secretary-General of the League of Nations st_ates that owing to the death of Baron liolin Jacquemyns (Belgium), a post of Judge of the Permanent Court of International Justice is vacant. There are thus four vacancies to be filled, three others having occurred through the death of Herr W. Schucking (Germany) and the resignations of Mr. F. B. Kellogg (United States) and Mr. Wang ChungHui (China).
Judges of the Court of International Justice are elected by the Council and the Assembly of the League, voting simultaneously and separately on candidates nominated by the National Groups of the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
For the seat, tendered vacant by the death of Herr Schucking and the resignation of "Mr. Kellogg candidates have already tbeen nominated, and for the China seat candidates are now bein< T nominated. The election to these three seats will take place at the next session of the Assembly. Regarding Baron Jacquemyn's seat, the Council of the League will fix a date.
