PARTY CRISIS.
Reds' Socialisation Plan in British Columbia.
PRESIDENT REJECTS POLICY.
(Received 12 noon.) VANCOUVER, July 31. Declaring that Communists In the party were seeking to undermine it, the Rev. Robert Connell, Legislature leader of the Canadian Commonwealth Federation, flatly refused to accept the platform drawn up at the recent provincial convention calling for socialisation of wealth and industry. He also refused to resign, whereupon the executive was called to consider the crisis. In a letter, Mr. Connell stated that one of the leaders in the party was also organiser for the Communist party. Declaring that the pressure of Radicals in organisation was unbearable, he told them: "I am not ashamed of my loyalty to either my God or my King." The party is the largest Opposition group in the Provincial Legislature, with seveH members. /
