TAMAKI YACHT CLUB.
The commodore of the Tamaki Yacht Club, with the help of Mr. Ernest Davis and Mr. Arthur Brett, has secured about 130 yards of blue metal stone from the old post office and it is now Iyin L g ready for use. The object is to build the wall on the east and west Bides of the Bastion Point 3ft higher to avoid a repetition of the damage done by the storms of February and March last. There is enough stone to do this work, also to build a wall right round the front of the clubhouse. This will save the constant erosion by the sea now going on, and greatly improve the appearance from the water. To secure the necessary funds an art union has been sanctioned by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the prize being the well-known 3ft champion racing model yacht Tamariki, built by Messrs. Collings and Bell and donated for the purpose by the commodore, Mr. W. A. Wilkinson. The cost of the work is estimated at £SO.
