TAKAPUNA GUN CLUB. Mr. .T. McGregor, president of Ihe club, presided at tlio sixth annual mooting of the Takapuna Gun Club, held on Thursday evening. lie complimented the secretary, Mr. M. D. Morgan, and the treasurer, Mr. L. ,T. Henderson, on the good financial position of the club during the past season. Following the adoption of the annual report and statement of receipts and expenditure. t lie election of officers resulted:—l'atron. Mr. C. A. Whitney; president, Mr. J. McGregor: secretary, Mr. M. ». Morgan; treasurer, Mr. L. J. Henderson; auditor, Mr.. E. O. Tucker; handicapper and referee, Mr. F. Kay Ktratton (re-elected); trapper, Mr. -T. Grainger (re-elected); custodian and enti-rer, Mr. .T. Henderson (re-elected); chief steward, Mr. 'J'. A. Hunt; committee, president, secretary and treasurer, and Messrs. It. L. Baxter, J. Grainger, J. Henderson, J. Keep-George, W. It. Ayton..
Mention was made of the willing help given the club at all shoots by Mesdames M. 1). Morgan and W. It. Ayton, who dispensed afternoon tea to shooters and visitors. The club has decided to make them a presentation.
The club hopes to have their new automatic trap installed before the official opening day of the 1030-37 season in August, and intends applying to the New Zealand Gun Club Association for permission to hold a provincial or island championship: Several line trophies have been offered to the club for competition during the coming season.
Several suggestions were made at the meeting to encourage novice shooters, and the incoming committee is to devise ways and means to encourage anybody interested to join the club.
The secretary reported that ho had an aggregate trophy presented for competition.
