HOCKEY.
PIAKO ASSOCIATION. The Piako Hockey Association met at Morrinsvllle on Thursday evening, when it was decided to write to the Auckland Association asking it to make Country Wepk date next year somewhere nearer the origin<fl date in* June, as this was more convenient for country playeis. In the pvent of the association not being a ble send a team to Auckland for the whole of Country Week, permission is to arrange the match for the Kent Cup with Whangarei on the Saturday prior to Country Week. A letter of appreciation is to be sent to Miss Alma Twyname, who has retired from the position of secretary of the Auck land Ladies' Hockey Association after 14 years. A visit from the Taranaki ladies representative team was accepted. The team will play Piako representatives at Mor rinsville on Tuesday, August J5.
