PRESENTATION.
MAJOR E. ELLIOTT.
The presentation of a silver watch was made on Thursday niglit at a complimentary dinner to Major E. Elliott, who is retiring from the position of officer commanding the 4tli Field Battery, NZ -V The dinner was held at the Royal Hotel' and 50 officers, N.C.O.'s and men were present. , ~ Lieutenant R. F. Spragg made the presentation, taking the place of Captain C. B- Menzies, second hi command, who was unable to be present owing to ill-health. Major Elliott has commanded the battery for some five years, but lias been a member of the battery for eonsiderly longer.
