WHAT'S IN A WINE NAME?
PARIS. ] The French are exercised over the question of what's in the name of "a French wine. Some authorities in the wine industry hold that American wines with French names are "excellent advertising" for vintages of France. Others, however, suggest that "our American friends are going a bit too far" by appropriating French names for wines vinted domestically.
