Y.W.C.A.
RETIRING PRESIDENT ENTERTAINS The lounge room of the Y.W.C.A. hostel was the setting for a farewell party given by the retiring president of the Y.W.C.A., Mrs. M. Campbell, to the members of the board and staff. It was also a welcome opportunity for the members of the board and staff to express to Mrs. Campbell their deep appreciation of her wonderful work and service to the association during the five years and a half she has been president. Mrs. Clark, on behalf of the board members, expressed their appreciation and presented flowers and a handbag to Mrs. Campbell as a token of esteem and affection. Miss Bennet, on behalf of the staff, extended good wishes to Mrs. Campbell and asked her to accept as a souvenir of the many happy hours they had spent working together a crystal vase filled with violets.
The board and staff were also glad of this opportunity to extend good wishes to Miss Scott, who is leaving the Auckland Association in order to join the association in Adelaide, South Australia. Mrs. Campbell expressed to Miss Scott their regret at losing her after the short period she has been in Auckland and wished her every happiness in her new work.
