A AND B TRIAL TEAMS. INTER-ISLAND CURTAIN-RAISER. Teams selected by Mr. 11, Avery to play il'i the curtain-raiser game before the North and South Island League match at Carlaw Park next Saturday afternoon. The object its to give the three New Zealand selectors, Messrs. T. A. McClymont, J. Amos and H. Avery, an opportunity of seeing all players in action prior to the selection of the Xew Zealand team to play the Englishmen on August S and 15. The trial sides are:— A Team. Full-back, Hemi (Manukau); threequarters, L. Sc-ott (Devonport). Riley (Ponsonby), Loader (Marist); five-eighths, O'Connor (West Coast), W. Stocklev (Ponsonby); half-back. Powell (Richmond); forwards, Telford (Richmond), Flanagan (Mount Albert), Gault (Manukau), Watene (Manukau), Donald (Devonport), Peterson (Mount Albert). E. Mincham was not available. B Team. Full-back, Kerr (Devonport): threequarters, Bickerton (Richmond), Kay (Ponsonby), Jones (Ponsonbv); fiveeighths, L. Schultz (Mount Albert), Trevarthan (Manukau); half-back, E. Scott (Devonport); forwards, Clark (City) Rutherford (Manukau), Breed (Marist)'. Carter (Ponsonby), Keane (Marist), Sena (Canterbury). Reserves for both teams:—Backs: Wilkie jßichmond), G. Tittleton (Richmond), O Halloran (Ponsonby). Forwards: Johnson (Newton), Hollows (Devonport), lvawe (Manukau). Any player not available is requested to notify the selector immediately.
