Liberal Bequests of Retired Banker. CHARITIES REMEMBERED. MELBOURNE, June 24. Enthusiasm for fishing is reflected in a novel provision in the will of the late Mr. Arthur Stuart Murdoch, formerly of Rotorua, New Zealand, who died in Melbourne on May 2. The testator left £41,570, of which £10,820 is in Victoria, £10,000 in New Zealand, £9000 in England, £5000 in New South Wales, £4000 in Queensland, £2400 in Fiji and £350 in South Australia. Legacies and bequests total £8700, including £1000 to the Leanchoil Hospital, Forres, Morayshire, Scotland, and £1000 to the Presbyterian Church of Ncav Zealand for orphanage work around Auckland. Subject to a life charge in favour of testator's brother, the residue is bequeathed to the Provost of the Royal Borough of Forres as a fund, or nucleus thereof, to purchase the sole rights of all classes of fishing in the lower portion of the River Findhorn for the benefit of permanent residents of ForrestoAvn and the parish of Rafford. FolloAving his retirement he travelled extensively abroad, although he continued to spend considerable time in the Rotorua district. He Avas single, and had no relatives in New Zealand.
