SHOT IN STOMACH.
YOUNG MAN KILLED. SEEN BY FRIEND TO FALL. FATALITY ON FARM. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WAIPUKURAU, this day. A gunshot wound in the stomach resulted in the death yesterday of John Place, aged 20, employed by Stratford Bros., farmers, of FJemington, 18 miles from Waipukurau. Thomas William Wilson, aged 20, who occupied a whare with Place two miles back on the property, reached the Stratfords' homestead at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, and advised his employers that his mate had been shot dead. H« stated that he was in the next room when he heard a shot fired. He rushed out and saw Place, who had been preparing to go rabbit shooting, drop dead. There was a wound in his stomach.
